Master Gantt Schedule

Master Gantt Schedule

This screen rolls up all the job Gantt schedules into one screen.  The objective of this screen is to estimate the labor and cost related to all the jobs.

Filters

You must set a Projected Calendar that will be applied to all jobs.  The individual calendar that may be assigned to a particular job cannot be used al this level.  However calendars assigned at the task level will be applied.

In order to manage this screen there are a few filters to assist:
  1. Cost Type - this allows you to select which cost type you want to include in the Gantt rollup.
  2. Use Projected Hours/Dollars - clicking this will use projected hours and cost.  Unchecked it uses estimated hours and costs.
  3. Show Scheduled Tasks Only - tasks without dates will be filtered out.
  4. Show Scheduled Jobs Only - jobs with no scheduled tasks will be filtered out.
  5. Search - the search function will filter by task description.  There is no filter by job.

Gantt Chart

The Gantt chart can be manipulated in the same way as an individual job Gantt.  Refer to the help screen for Job Schedules.

In the DESCRIPTION field of the header you will see two buttons:
CLOSE ALL - This will close all the job folders so there is one line per job.
OPEN ALL - This will open all the job folders so you can see all the tasks for all the jobs.

Saving the schedule on this screen will save all schedules.  When using this screen ensure no other users are editing individual jobs since you may overwrite their changes.  If you have a lot of schedule information this may take some time.

Saving the baseline on this screen will save all baselines.  Again use caution.

If you need to Export a schedule, you will need to do that one the job schedule screen.

Interconnecting tasks.  You can connect tasks between jobs on this screen, however those links are not applied if you open the individual job schedule.

Resource Grid

The resource grid has the same layout as the job.  The left section rolls up the data by workgroup and allows you to change between Hours and Costs.

The right grid shows the manpower requirements in either hours or equivalent people required by workgroup.  The manpower requirements are averaged over the selected timeframe.  The hours per day are defined by the calendar you selected.

Since the data is averaged, use caution when using this grid to plan manpower in any time setting other than DAYS.
